The Rhode Island Red Chicken is the state bird of Rhode Island. It was developed there and Massachusetts in the late 1840s. It is a cross between a Malay and a Brown Leghorn. They are a large bird among other chickents. There is no doubt that their coloring is beautiful and unique.
